    • Mrs. Gersztoff June 19, 2013 at 8:44 pm #

Good idea, Elena! Sometimes book covers make them look like they might be a good fit, but they’re too easy or too hard. It’s good to stretch sometimes, though, if you are interested! 🙂 Enjoy!

I just finished Brookly Bridge by Karen Hesse. Since I love New York City, and I love Karen Hesse. This was perfect for me. It is about a boy growing up in Brooklyn during the time when people made their living by working right in their homes, mostly with sewing machines. The boy in this book dreams of going to Coney Island. I’d also like to go to Coney Island some day but I’m sure it is not the same now as it was in this book!

  33. Ajalay C. September 13, 2013 at 1:51 pm #

I love Frindle. It’s the fun-est book ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  34. Annika R. September 13, 2013 at 1:58 pm #

I am reading the book “Socks” by Beverly Cleary. It’s about a little kitten who was sold to the Brickers, and the Brickers give Socks special attention. When Mrs. Bricker has a baby, Socks becomes jealous, because she starts giving all the attention that she used to give Socks to the baby. Will Socks ever feel the same?

  35. Annika R. October 12, 2013 at 3:58 pm #

I just finished reading High School Musical 3. It is just like the movie, so I think the reason why I liked it so much is because I love the movie. I wonder if they wrote books based on the first and second movie?

Right now I am reading a book by Sarah Mlynowski called WHATEVER AFTER Dream On. This series is about Abby, a 5th grade girl and her younger brother, Jonah, having a magic mirror in their basement! Somehow, they always end up accidentally waking up Maryrose, the fairy in the mirror and when Maryrose is awake, she sucks whoever is near into a fairy tale! This time they’re in Sleeping Beauty’s fairy tale. How will they wake up Abby’s best friend? How will Princess Brianna (Sleeping Beauty) fall asleep for one hundred years? Is it a good thing for her to fall asleep for that long? How will Abby and Jonah get home? What is the revenge from the fairys going to be? To find out, try reading this book!

    • Mrs. Gersztoff October 20, 2013 at 7:22 pm #

Hi Annika! This sounds great! I love the way you tell about the book without giving away too much! This sounds like a great book! Keep reading!

  37. Annika R. October 22, 2013 at 11:13 am #

In school I am reading a book called The Night Of The Twisters. It’s about Dan and his best friend, Arthur, alone in Dan’s house during a terrible storm. The radio is dead. The phone isn’t working. It’s pitch black outside. Dan and Arthur are watching TV while worrying about their familys far, far away from them and wondering whether they should keep on watching TV or go downstairs for shelter. I want to know what they decide, so I am going to keep on reading this book until I finish it!

I am reading a book in school called Too Many Murphys. I love this book because it is hilarious and there are a lot of unexpected twists to the story. This book is about a girl named Collette who is in third grade and she is the oldest of four children in her family. Her little siblings are very mischievous and they always mess up Collette’s plans. The part I’m at right now is when Collette gave up the part of a main character in a Christmas play just so that she could paint sets with her best friend (Sarah). But then her teacher gave that part away to Sarah and Sarah excepted the part! She knew that Collette gave up the part for her. Marsha (Collette’s other friend) is also mad at Sarah because she really, really, REALLY wanted that part. Why would Sarah do that?
